Release policy

A formal release policy for the project don't exist at the moment. The basis of this informations are various discussions and the past releases.

Major release

  • 6 to 8 months based releasing
  • 4-6 months development
  • approximatly 2 months extensive testing
  • this releases are derived from the trunk version

Minor release

  • 2 to 3 month after a major release
  • only bugfixes and documentation updates get backported from svn trunk
  • shorter testing period
  • one ore more minor releases depending on the demand
  • this releases are derived from the stable branch

Planned dates for releases

  • Version 1.3.2: 15th March
  • Version 1.4.0:
    • code freeze 3th 6th June
    • one month testing
    • release on 4th in July
